If the battery is built into a device
Since 1 April 2026, Hamamatsu City accepts certain small electronic products with non-removable rechargeable batteries as specified items. The rule applies to products with a side shorter than 60 cm that are not classified as bulky collection items.
Examples published by the city include electric shavers, electric toothbrushes, portable game devices, handheld fans and digital cameras.
If the battery can be removed
Hamamatsu City instructs residents to separate a removable battery from the device: the battery goes to the specified-item collection, while the product body and cords are sorted separately according to the city's rules.
